Multiple OS
Learn which Operating Systems you are able to run on your server.
An Operating System is the software that communicates with the hardware of a computer and works as the intermediary between all the applications and the hardware, which includes peripheral devices such as a printer, a mouse or a keyboard. When you run software, it transmits requests to the OS through an API (Application Program Interface) and the communication is done through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Similar to a personal computer, web hosting servers also use an Operating System which serves as a host for all of the software installed on them, including script apps or server-side software such as a flash server, a VOIP server, and many others. A virtual machine can be created on a physical one, so you'll be able to install a guest OS on it and have a different system environment in contrast to the physical server host OS.
Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers Hosting
If you decide to buy one of our dedicated servers, you will find three Operating Systems on the order page since we want to give you a larger choice for the system environment on your machine as different applications may have certain requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian feature different modules developed by their vast support communities, so you can select any of these OSs and benefit from a reliable and risk-free web hosting service. Based on your decision, you will also have different Control Panels to choose from. Of course, we can always change the Operating System in case the one you have selected in the beginning doesn't meet the requirements of the software which you would like to run. We can also upgrade the OS on a regular basis in order to keep it as secure as possible with our Managed Services upgrade package.
